Esmerelda and the Mermaid
Today we did a tad bit of schoolwork, and then we played. I feel strongly that most of the day should be spent imagining, creating, and PLAYING. Liv donned this beautiful gypsy costume (the girls recently watched The Hunchback of Notre Dame), and Emmy chose to be a mermaid (she could barely walk in it when we first got this costume, it hung over her feet, and now it's up past her ankles)! Beautiful light streams into our bathroom in the afternoon, and I grabbed my camera (Nikon z6ii, and my favorite Nikon 35mm lens). The girls started dancing around at the top of the stairs, and then moved to Liv's bedroom window, which is my favorite spot to get backlit portraits! We have huge old windows in our house which are anything but efficient, but they sure are pretty!
